Actress’ 10-Year-Old Daughter Was ‘Hurt’ by Trump Win, Mom Says

Tom Cruise’s daughter has spoken, and she wasn’t happy with the outcome of the presidential election, with Hillary Clinton failing to become the first woman elected to lead the United States.

Or, that’s how Suri Cruise felt about Clinton’s loss to Donald Trump, according to her mother Katie Holmes.

“I thought Hillary was going to win this year,” Holmes said in an interview with Jenna Bush Hager for SiriusXM Wednesday. “And it was such a … it just hurt so badly when she didn’t. And I know that it hurt my child so much as a 10-year-old, and it really made me think, ‘Oh we have a lot … a long way to go as women.’”

Holmes said Clinton’s loss to the former “Celebrity Apprentice” star cast a pall over the closing weeks of 2016. Holmes and Suri shared a moment with the Democratic presidential candidate in December 2015 following a private dinner.
