Veteran rockers Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi joined President Obama, Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton at an election-eve rally for the Democratic candidate in Philadelphia Monday night, where the two performed hours before polls were set to open across the country on Tuesday.
Springsteen, a vocal celebrity surrogate for Clinton in recent months, performed songs including “Dancing in the Dark,” “Long Walk Home” — which he described as a prayer for after the election — and his hit “Thunder Road.”
“The choice tomorrow couldn’t be any clearer,” Springsteen told rallygoers near the city’s Independence Hall. “Hillary’s candidacy is based on intelligence, experience, preparation and on an actual vision of an America where everyone counts, men and women, white and black, Hispanic and native, where folks of all faiths and backgrounds can come together to address our problems in a reasonable and thoughtful way.”
Without naming Clinton’s opponent, Donald Trump, Springsteen described the Republican candidate as a “man whose vision is limited to little beyond himself” and who has a “profound lack of decency.”
