Bruce Springsteen ‘Embarrassed’ as An American

Bruce Springsteen took the stage Thursday night in Australia and called himself an “embarrassed” American, following reports about a tense phone call between the country’s prime minister and President Donald Trump.

The 67-year-old singer told the crowd in Melbourne that he and his band members, “stand before you embarrassed Americans tonight,” before mocking the president and his phone call with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.

“This is a song from 1965 by The Orlons, we’re gonna use this to send a letter back home,” Springsteen said right before he started singing the song titled, “Don’t Hang Up.”
