Debbie Reynolds Once Said Her Greatest Fear Was Outliving Her Daughter—See Her Heartbreaking Words

On Wednesday, the world lost iconic actress Debbie Reynolds, after she suffered a fatal stroke at 84 years old. Her sudden death came just one day after her daughter, Carrie Fisher, died from cardiac arrest.

Sadly, the acclaimed star seemed to predict this grim tragedy in her 2013 autobiography Unsinkable.

In the book, the Singin’ In The Rain leading lady opened up about the possibility of losing a child, admitting it was the one thing that scared her the most:

“It’s not natural to outlive your child. This has always been my greatest fear.”

The Unsinkable Molly Brown alum went on to express that she thought such a huge heartbreak might even kill her, adding:

“Too many mothers have lost their children, for thousands of different reasons. I don’t know if I could survive that.”
