Will WWE fans get the chance to see The Rock in the squared circle one more time? The People's Champion finished his full-time WWE career in 2002, after losing the Undisputed World Heavyweight Title to a young Brock Lesnar.
Since then, the Brahma Bull has made sporadic appearances, instead focusing on his career in Hollywood. He topped the 2016 list of highest paid actors with total earnings of $64.5m. The wrestler-turned-actor's most recent appearance came in February, where he made a Raw appearance and interacted with Vince McMahon. His last in-ring action took place at WrestleMania 32, over a year ago, where he saw off the Wyatt Family's Erick Rowan in six seconds in an unscheduled match.
The Rock, real name Dwayne Johnson, has not competed since. The chances of him making a return to full-time action appear slim. WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross thinks The Rock returning is highly unlikely, but believes if the wrestler runs for president then he could make a return to the ring to connect with fans.
"If he runs for president [The Rock] he may come back for one more match to reconnect with the audience," Ross said on A.V. Club. When asked if a match between The Rock and US President Donald Trump was possible, he just said, "Oh. God."
