Jerry Springer said President Donald Trump’s attack on the “free press” is an “assault on America.”
On Friday, the former talk show host sent a message to the president via Twitter that attacking the media was not the same as attacking the other political party. His tweet comes in response to the president’s press conference Thursday when he called out the “very fake news” and media over their coverage of his presidency.
“This isn’t politics. It isn’t Democrat vs. Republican. Trump’s vicious attack on the free press is an assault on America. STOP IT,” Springer tweeted.
Earlier the same day, Springer questioned whether “secrets” were safe with Trump.
“Intelligence Services must watch what they tell Trump. Are secrets safe with him? Will Russians get info? Investigation necessary,” Springer tweeted.
