Former MLB superstar Jose Canseco is actively lobbying President Trump to become his next chief of staff.

According to ESPN:

NEW YORK -- Jose Canseco is ready to take a swing at politics.

The former major league slugger has made his pitch for a big job at the White House, tweeting Wednesday to President Donald Trump: "u need a bash brother for Chief if (sic) Staff."

Canseco told his "little buddy" he has "a secret reorg plan already." He suggested Trump send him a direct message and signed off #yeswecanseco.

This wasn't the first time Canseco volunteered to serve in Trump's administration. On Oct. 9, after Nikki Haley announced that she was stepping down as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Canseco said he'd be up for the job.

Canseco has been in Washington before, testifying to Congress about steroids. It seems unlikely that he will be considered for the position. But you never know.
