As backlash continues over the Megyn Kelly‘s Alex Jones interview controversy, NBC has been holding crisis meetings on how to handle the overflow of bad press, RadarOnline.com has learned.

“It’s a s**t show. No one wants to withstand a whole week of criticism over this. There are a number of people who want to pull the interview,” confessed an NBC insider to Page Six.

As readers know, families of Sandy Hook victims have been candid about their discontent with the situation, taking to twitter to voice their negative thoughts on conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and blaming Kelly for her role in legitimizing the extremist’s philosophies. While NBC has been desperately trying to find a solution to the chaos, an insider admitted that the network needs the controversy to shake up their Sunday lineup and bring in new viewers.

“No one expected sponsors to pull out, but this is why they hired Megyn. They expect to lose and gain viewers and they want the buzz,” claimed the source.
