NYC Chick-Fil-A Opening Declared ‘Creepy’ by Liberal Writer

After its chicken sandwiches were a hit with New Yorkers, Chick-fil-A opened a new store in Manhattan that’s the biggest one yet: five stories and 12,000 square feet.

Despite some pushback from Mayor Bill DeBlasio and some local protesters, Chick-fil-A’s venture into the Big Apple has been successful. When its fifth Manhattan location opened on March 29, people lined up around the block to get their chicken.

Writer Dan Piepenbring blasted Chick-fil-A’s “creepy infiltration” of New York City, writing that “the brand’s arrival here feels like an infiltration, in no small part because of its pervasive Christian traditionalism.” He listed Chick-fil-A’s policy to be closed on Sundays and the company’s corporate purpose, which begins “to glorify God,” as examples of this “pervasive” Christianity.
