Stephen Colbert Snaps Back at Trump’s Insults—’I Won!’

Some people would be upset if the president of the United States said they had no talent, but Stephen Colbert was downright giddy about it on Thursday night.

The host of CBS’ “The Late Show” opened Thursday’s broadcast by firing back at President Trump, who said in an interview with Time magazine that Colbert was “a no-talent guy” and not funny. Colbert responded with a smile.

“The president of the United States has personally come after me and my show, and there’s only one thing to say … yay!” Colbert said, clapping his hands together and laughing. He then blew kisses to the camera and waved as his audience chanted his name.

“Mr. Trump, there’s a lot you don’t understand, but I never thought one of those things would be show business,” Colbert said. “Don’t you know I’ve been trying for a year to get you to say my name? And you were very restrained — admirably restrained — but now you did it. I won.”
