Caitlyn Jenner is less than thrilled with President Donald Trump or her fellow Republicans.
“Yes, I did vote for Trump but here’s the deal-breaker for the Republican party: You mess with my community, you don’t give us equality and a fair shot, I’m coming after you,” she told Diane Sawyer during an interview airing Friday night on “20/20.” “When it comes to all equality issues for the entire LGBT community, what we need is federal guidance.”
In addition to helping vote America’s 45th president into office, the reality star, 67, also attended his inauguration in January. And during the weekend’s festivities, Jenner was even asked to take in a round of golf with the real estate tycoon-turned-politico at some point in the future — an offer that she’s since soured on.
“At that time,” the former Olympian said, “I thought it was a pretty good idea. But since [lifting federal protections for transgender student bathroom use], it’s not a good idea and so I won’t be playing golf with him.”
