Trump doesn't like to miss an opportunity to interject his opinion and this situation was no different.
President Trump derided Jussie Smollett as “the actor that nobody ever heard of” during a speech Tuesday night at the National Republican Congressional Committee.
After criticizing Joe Biden over allegations he groped women, the president went on a rant about the “Empire” actor for claiming two men in “Make America Great Again” hats attacked him in a racist and homophobic incident, according to the Hill.
“How about the guy from Chicago? The actor that nobody ever heard of,” Trump told the crowd. “He said he got taken out by ‘MAGA country.’ I said, ‘What the hell was that?’ I guess that’s a hate crime, right?”
Prosecutors in Chicago dropped all charges against Smollett, who had been accused of staging the Jan. 29 attack in a desperate bid to advance his own career.
