First Lady Melania Trump was scrutinized during her visit to the border on June 21, 2018, for wearing a $40 Zara jacket that had the words "I really don't care, do u" printed on the back.
Now, a week after her initial visit, the value of similar jackets has skyrocketed with prices reaching as high as $900 on platforms like eBay.
According to Breitbart.com, at least 90 people have placed bids on the jacket listed by multiple sellers causing the parka to rise to eBay's "popular items" list.
After the debacle, President Donald Trump shared a tweet explaining that the quote on the jacket was meant to reference the "fake news media" and how Melania Trump has "learned how dishonest they are, and she truly no longer cares!"
Her spokeswoman told the Associated Press: "It's a jacket. There was no hidden message. After today's important visit to Texas, I hope the media isn't going to choose to focus on her wardrobe."
