‘Today Show’ Co-host Hoda Kotb Breaks Down In Tears After Interview Drew Brees About 5M Dollar Coronavirus Donation

‘Today’ Show co-host Hoda Kotb broke into tears on national television after interviewing NFL star Drew Brees about his incredible decision to donate Five Million Dollars to Coronavirus relief. As The New York Post reports:

The popular anchor has been flying solo in the 30 Rockefeller studio as her co-anchor Savannah Guthrie is self-isolating and coming live from her home.

And it just appeared too much as mom-of-two Kotb was overcome after talking to New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees about his efforts to help the state amid a staggering spike in coronavirus cases there.

Kotb has deep roots in Louisiana, having worked there for years earlier in her career as a former anchor at WWL-TV in New Orleans.

At the end of her interview, Kotb told Brees, who made the donation with his wife Brittany, “I actually think a lot of things are contagious, including generosity. Our hope is that because you let us know you made this big generous donation other people can look and say, ‘Hey, maybe I can help out too.’ Drew we love you.”

It’s good to see such incredible displays of generosity from real Americans in times of crisis.
