What Melania Wore Welcoming Australian Prime Minister to the WH

Via Mona Salama:

First Lady Melania Trump alongside her husband, President Donald Trump welcomed Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and his wife Jenny with a pomp-filled military arrival ceremony on the South Lawn in the White House Friday morning.

Using fashion to pay homage to the visiting country, Melania donned a light dusty blue balloon-sleeve midi dress by Australian luxury brand Scanlan Theodore. The crepe knit dress is a tailored dress that features a v-neck, cocoon sleeve and a separate belt made in the same fabric that clinches on the waist. The dress retails for $800 and is available at Scanlan Theodore.

She paired the light blue dress with silver python snakeskin pumps from Christian Louboutin. The So Kate pumps retails for $1,395 at Bergdorf Goodman.

The Australian Prime Minister wife, Jenny was seen in an elegant navy blue dress that featured a halter neckline, billowy sleeves, and an asymmetrical skirt. She paired the navy blue dress with nude pumps and matching nude envelope clutch. As for the men, both Trump and Morrison donned navy blue suits, with the president sporting a red and navy striped tie and the Australian Prime Minister opted for a minimalist beige.

The welcoming ceremony included Marine band performances of the national anthem of both countries as well as a 19-gun salute and inspection of troops. After the ceremony, the two leaders and their wives walked inside the White House East Room to a joint press news conference. Later in the evening, a state dinner held in the Rose Garden of White House to celebrate 100 years of “mateship” between the U.S. and Australia. The event was planned by the First Lady as she picked the theme and decorations.
