All The New Sordid Details About Epstein Confidante Ghislaine Maxwell That Emerged in a Newly Unsealed Deposition

Ghislaine Maxwell, the disgraced former British socialite and close associate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, lost the motion to prevent her 2016 deposition from going public, when a judge ordered the documents unsealed.

The 465-page transcript of Maxwell’s testimony from Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre’s 2017 defamation lawsuit was released with redactions on Thursday.

Here are all the details from Maxwell’s obstructive and denial laden deposition.

Underage Girls

Maxwell denied ever seeing any girls under the age of eighteen in Epstein’s home. “I can’t testify to that because I have no idea what you are talking about,” she said. Later adding that she wasn’t aware what happened in the house, even when she was present.

“I had an office with a door so the door would be shut and I would be working. I’m not responsible for what Jeffrey does and I don’t always pay attention to what happens in the house.”

Nude Photos

When asked if she took nude photos of Epstein’s alleged victims, she replied that it was possible she had photographed people “that were somehow semi or had some clothing on or no clothes on,” but asserted “at no time were any of these pictures remotely inappropriate.”

Family Friendly

Maxwell insisted that the photographs she took could be displayed in a family home. “The types of — first, I took very few and they were always by request, this was a picture you could put on your — gift to your parent or to your grandparents to put on their mantelpiece,” she answered. “It would be a very benign sort of attractive picture where you wouldn’t see anything.”

Jeffrey Epstein Update: Court Says Ghislaine Maxwell’s Deposition Can’t Remain Secret A federal court has cleared the path to unseal the transcript of Ghislaine Maxwell’s deposition from 2016, a lengthy document that may shed light on the sex-trafficking operation she allegedly ran with the late Jeffrey Epstein that catered to rich and powerful men. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit affirmed a federal judge’s ruling from July, saying the lower court was correct to reject “meritless arguments” from Maxwell, who is accused of procuring young girls for Epstein. The mandate is a victory for Virginia Giuffre, who has publicly accused Maxwell, Epstein and others of sexually abusing her when she was a minor. It’s not yet clear when the transcript will be released, but U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska issued a new order Tuesday saying the parties involved should prepare for its unsealing “as soon as is practicable.” Maxwell has denied the allegations against her, including under sworn testimony. But prosecutors say she helped Epstein sexually abuse dozens of underage girls. And in July, Maxwell, 58, was charged on several countsrelated to sex trafficking of minors and perjury. She has pleaded not guilty in that case. “LOL SHE IS SCREWED. Ghislaine’s Job

Maxwell denied being a recruiter in Epstein’s alleged sex trafficking ring. When asked if she recruited Virginia Giuffre, the former socialite answered, “She was a masseuse and in the form and as my job, I was to have people who he wanted for various things, including massage.”

Arrangements

In a follow up, she was asked about her job description. “Did you, as part of your duties in working for Jeffrey, ever arrange for Virginia to have sex with (name redacted)?”  Her answer: “Just for the record, I have never at any time, at any place, in any moment ever asked Virginia Roberts or whatever she is called now to have sex with anybody.”

Violent Outburst

Maxwell went nuts when questioned if she met Giuffre at Mar-a-Lago resort, “I am going to put on the record, Ms. Maxwell very inappropriately and very harshly pounded our law firm table in an inappropriate manner,” Giuffre’s lawyer said. “I ask she take a deep breath, and calm down. I know this is a difficult position but physical assault or threats is not appropriate, so no pounding, no stomping, no, that’s not appropriate.” Maxwell clarified that she didn’t threaten anyone.

Prince Andrew

In a redacted email exchange, during a timeframe that suggests Prince Andrew was the sender, Giuffre’s lawyer said it read: “Let me know when we can talk. Got some specific questions to ask you about Virginia Roberts.” When asked what they discussed on the call, Maxwell stated, “Just what a liar she is.” Later adding, “I don’t think he told me why she was a liar. The substance of everything that she said was a lie with regard to him.”

The Puppet Incident

Questioned if she had given a redacted name that is presumably Prince Andrew, a puppet of his likeness, Maxwell reluctantly identified the object as a “caricature,” but said she didn’t gift him with it. In a follow up, she was asked if the puppet was used in a game to grope women, she said, “I recollect the puppet but I don’t recollect anything around the puppet.”

Clinton Dinner

When asked if she attended an alleged dinner party with Epstien, Giuffre, and former U.S. President Bill Clinton, Maxwell responded, “Virginia is absolutely, totally lying. This is a subject of defamation about Virginia and the lies she has told, and one of the lies she told was that President Clinton was on the island where I was present.”

Lolita Express

Maxwell was probed if she had flown on Epstein’s plane during any of Bill Clinton’s reported 26 trips, she answered with a deliberately vague, “I have flown.” When questioned if the former president was friends with Epstein, she said, “I wouldn’t be able to characterize it like that.”

Sex Toy Stash

When asked about a basket full of sex toys she allegedly kept in Epstein’s Palm Beach mansion, she repeatedly tried to dodge Giuffre’s lawyer’s questions. “You have to define what are you talking about,” Maxwell said.  He rephrased: “A sex toy meaning a vibrator of some kind, sometimes they are called dildos, of that nature, anything like that?”

“I don’t recollect anything that would formally be a dildo, anything like that.” When asked how she would describe sex toys, she replied, “I wouldn’t describe sex toys.”

Questionable Memory

Maxwell dodged questions about having knowledge of Epstein’s alleged sexual abuse of minors, using the phrase “I don’t recollect” 42 times, and answering with “I don’t recall” an additional 66 times.
