Anti-Trump comedian Kathy Griffin announced to her social media followers that she has lung cancer and will soon be undergoing surgery to have half of her left lung removed. As The New York Post reports:
Kathy Griffin revealed she has lung cancer despite “never” smoking and will be undergoing surgery to have half of her left lung removed.
The comedian announced the news Monday morning in a lengthy note posted to social media, sharing that the cancer is stage 1 and “contained.”
“I’ve got to tell you guys something. I have cancer. I’m about to go into surgery to have half of my left lung removed,” she began her letter on social media. “Yes, I have lung cancer even though I’ve never smoked! The doctors are very optimistic as it is stage one and contained to my left lung.”
Griffin, 60, said she’s hopeful that she won’t need to get chemotherapy or radiation treatment after the surgery and “should have normal function with my breathing.”
Griffin has been a longtime foe of President Trump, going so far as to have a photo taken of herself holding a mock-up of his severed head.

God is punishing her.
I’m sorry, I’m a believer, pastor, minister in many nations but God is not punishing her. He doesn’t give people cancer or any other sickness. Bible says, it is his kindness that brings us to repentance.
Drew – I agree with you. No matter how “good” you might be in this world, it is still a fallen world and we are still in a sinner’s body and continue to sin.
If God is punishing her, would you say God is punishing babies born with cancer or some other disease? Absolutely not. It is evidence of a fallen world in need of God.
He does allow disease to come our way. I think He’s trying to get her attention, not punishing her. She ought to be ashamed of some of her public conduct & apologize, but sadly, she probably won’t.

Wrong answer. I watched an uncle wither away from lung and liver cancer, a grandfather from bladder cancer. Having survived prostate and GI cancer myself, I can tell you no one deserves that kind of fate. Not even a despicable specimen like Griffin.

Truly sorry to hear. Cancer is insidious, and even non tobacco smokers and develop it by genetics, other inhaled substances, known or unknown. LA is smoggy.
Wow some of you all claim Christianity and write what y’all have written. I know people might have bad feelings, but this goes beyond political disagreements. If you cannot learn compassion for someone you disagree with, how in the ever loving fuck can you sit there and claim to be one of gods children? Hypocrites and I’m calling you out.

Michael – remember the Parable of the unforgiving servant told by Jesus? It’s Matthew 18: 21-35.
To put it simply, God will forgive those who forgive others. If you can’t forgive others, God will not forgive you. Pray to find forgiveness in your heart for those who have hurt you or offended you. It is when you forgive that you are most like God.

Ms. Griffin – lung cancer is a serious medical issue. Although I abhor your politics and your supposed comedy, God is still God. His promises are true. Despite your past, if you repent and make Christ Jesus your Lord and Savior, eternal life will be granted onto you.
The choice is still yours as long as you are still this side of the grave.
