Candace Cameron Bure Apologizes For ‘Seductive’ Bible Video

“Fuller House” star Candace Cameron Bure caused a stir on social media when she posted a video that she believed displayed her prominent faith in the power of the Holy Spirit, but followers interpreted as “seductive” and “weird.”

The actress shared a TikTok video on her Instagram page of herself lip-syncing to Lana Del Ray’s “Jealous Girl” on Wednesday.

In the video, she mouths the lyrics “Baby, I’m a gangster too and it takes two to tango/You don’t wanna’ dance with me, dance with me,” while leaning over a table, then picks up a copy of the bible and holds it to her chest with a coy smile. “When they don’t know the power of the Holy Spirit,” she captioned the video.

Burr issued an apology on her Instagram Story later that night, revealing she had deleted the post on Instagram due to the negative feedback from viewers who thought she was displaying sex appeal in a manner that disrespected her faith.

“I just came home and read a lot of messages that were not happy with my latest Instagram post that was a TikTok video,” she replied. “And I usually don’t apologize for these things, but a lot of you thought it was weird, and I’m sorry. That was not my intention. I was using a very specific clip from TikTok and applying it to the power of the Holy Spirit, which is incredible.”

Bure said she was shocked that followers found the clip to be seductive. “And so many of you thought that I was trying to be seductive, which clearly means I’m not a very good actress because I was trying to be strong, not sexy or seductive,” she quipped. “So I guess that didn’t work, but I deleted it.”

She noted that her 22-year-old daughter had made a similar post that didn’t garner the same reaction from followers.

“Maybe I was just trying to be too cool or relevant in a Biblical way that didn’t work,” Bure concluded. “Anyway, most of you didn’t like it, clearly, but there was a small percentage of you that appreciated what I did and understood my intention. But anyway, it’s gone. Now I know what you don’t like.”

Now, that is the way to apologize. Don’t admit you did anything wrong, because no one allows people to make “a mistake” any longer. Just delete whatever it is and move on. Thank you, Ms. Bure for your attempt to be a strong woman. If people do not like it, that is THEIR problem.

It amazes me that anyone would take the time to report this but neglects writing stories about other celebrities who actually do much more explicit acts. It appears that if you are a Christian and just as fallible as anyone else, you are the preferred subject to write about. She wasn’t dancing naked or even partially naked as many of today’s celebrities do regularly and post it proudly. This article is hypocrisy at best.

Kudos to Ms. Bure. It’s not that she did anything wrong, some just didn’t perceive what she did as being correct; in their opinion. No matter what we do, some people are going to have an issue with it. Hopefully, very soon, we will be able to be our honest selves again without having offended those with sensitivity issues.

If you believe in Jesus, stop allowing yourself too be pushed around and condemned, there’s only ONE official judge and it certainly isn’t a human ONE!!

I have another explanation – Your perception on the subject of spirituality, more specifically the subject of Christian spirituality, has become contaminated by the Hollywood Contagion.

While religion is man made, even inspired by devils..
Christianity, is being who you are made to be in Christ; from the relationship you have with Him…

It’s not about rules.. that’s legalism and we can’t earn it!

It’s King Solomon vs the Lilly of the Valley!
Be yourself, not someone else..
