Two Broke Girls creator Whitney Cummings is coming for the liberal elitists for pushing pandemic lockdowns while they hide out in their gated Hollywood homes.
The comedian noted that the rich and famous of Tinseltown are encouraging everybody to remain at home, with the exception of those who serve them.
“It’s amazing how wealthy hollywood people want everyone to [stay] home except grocery workers and Postmates and Amazon delivery people and nannies,” she tweeted on Friday.
Leftist Lip Sync Battle host Chrissy Teigen replied, “Wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww just text me.” Presumably to scold Cummings for spilling industry secrets.
Big Sick writer Emily V. Gordon didn’t understand the tweet’s messaging. “I genuinely can’t tell what you are advocating for here,” she replied. “Don’t stay home? Don’t order Postmates? Don’t encourage people to keep themselves as safe as they can? Don’t throw catered parties and put them on Instagram?”
Cummings recently dissed “self-righteous” liberals for dismissing people on the other side, rather than trying to “understand” them.
“I’m fascinated by playing devil’s advocate and want to understand the people I disagree with. I don’t want to dismiss and malign,” she said.
“I think it’s very self-righteous or sanctimonious to just dismiss people we disagree with without trying to understand why they believe what they believe,” Cummings continued. “Even though I don’t agree with somebody, I don’t think they’re dumb. And I’m a comedian who tours all over the country, and I see why people make the decisions that they make. And as a writer, you have to be able to do that.”
