After nearly a decade-and-a-half together and five years of marriage, country singer Sam Hunt and Hannah Lee Fowler are splitting over accusations of his infidelity.
Fowler, who is pregnant with the couple’s first child, filed for divorce from Hunt over allegations of “inappropriate marital conduct” and “adultery,” according to court documents.
Neither Hunt, nor Fowler had announced the pregnancy, but the filing indicates that the baby is due in May, and Fowler is requesting primary custody and child support.
She also wants plenty of money from Hunt over his indiscretions, and is requesting “transitional alimony, rehabilitative alimony, and alimony in future.”
Whatever happened to blow up the marriage must have been explosive, because she filed divorce papers last Friday, which was cited as the day they legally separated.
Fowler clearly wants to get away from Hunt, and has asked the court to award them with “their respective separate” properties. “The husband is guilty of such cruel and inhuman treatment or conduct toward the spouse as renders cohabitation unsafe or improper,” court docs state.
Hunt and Fowler got together in 2008 and he named his debut album Montevallo after her Alabama hometown. They were in an on-again-off-again relationship for years, but made it official in 2016, after Hunt doggedly pursued Fowler and convinced her to give it a try.
They got engaged during a trip to Israel in 2017, and tied the knot later that year in Georgia. In July of 2021, Hunt discussed their intentions to start a family.
“I hope so. We’ve been talking about it for a while, but we’ve really started thinking about it seriously here these past few months, so that’s on the agenda right now. And I’m hoping that we’ll have some good news sooner than later,” he said in an interview.
