“The Mandalorian” actress Gina Carano is facing backlash on Twitter for expressing her conservative beliefs.
Over the weekend, Carano posted a meme critical of democratic leaders over their pandemic response. The post featured photos of two men that seemingly have deliberately covered their eyes with facemasks, along with the message:

Liberal fans of the Disney+ “Star Wars” spin-off voiced their furor over the tweet, and have called on parent company Disney to terminate the former MMA fighter.
The hashtag #FireGinaCarano has gained a heated following. One user posted: “@ginacarano
is an embarrassment not only to star wars but to society.”
Another somehow garnered the that Carano is “racist” from her tweet: “#FireGinaCarano for using her platform for spouting dangerous rhetoric that literally puts queer and trans BIPOC in danger. She is a racist transphobe. She has publicly shown her support and spread dangerous misinformation and conspiracy theories surrounding covid19 as well.”
Carano has received hate for previous politically charged posts challenging democrats. One follower wrote, “Damn, you really coming out hard as a right winger…2020 continues to disappoint,” after likening Kamala Harris speaking to the oppressive society in “The Hunger Games.”

Seemingly undeterred by the haters, on the day following the 2020 Election, she wrote, “We need to clean up the election process so we are not left feeling the way we do today,” continuing that the nation needs to “make Voter Fraud end in 2020.”
