Ellen DeGeneres Whines About Cancel Culture as Ex-Staffers Rejoice Over Show’s Demise

Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres doesn’t understand why she and her program were canceled after dozens of staffers made public accusations about a toxic workplace on her set. 

“I mean I really didn’t understand it. I still don’t understand it,” she complained. “I thought something was going on because it was too orchestrated. It was too coordinated.” 

She was shocked that the media homed in on her after former employees came forward about racist, sexist, and abusive behavior behind the scenes of the show. “People get picked on but for four months straight for me,” she remarked. “And then for me to read in the press about a toxic workplace environment when all I’ve ever heard from every guest that comes on the show is what a happy atmosphere this is and what a happy place it is.”

DeGeneres still denies any knowledge of the behavior on set. “How I could have known,” she said. “There are a lot of different buildings. Unless I literally stayed here until the last person goes home at night, it is my name on the show so clearly it affects me and I might have to be the one to stand up and say, ‘This can’t be tolerated.’ But I do wish someone came up to me and said, ‘Hey, this is something you should know about.”

 Former employees are relieved that the show is over. “It was just not the greatest place to work. You always felt like there was something different when you walked on that set,” said an ex-crew member. “Everyone was stressed. There was a toxic element, and it’s because people are so on edge, and it’s because of her.”

“Hopefully she sees the error of her ways and she’ll change her behavior in the future and treat people normally, kindly and nice,” the ex-staffer stated. “Nobody likes to see a show end or their paycheck stop, but I’m sure a lot of people on that set are probably relieved that it’s over.”

“It’s about time,” said former bodyguard Tom Majercak. “With the cancel culture out there, people are getting canceled for the silliest of things, but this person can manipulate people and treat people the way they want, day in and day out, because of their title or status.”
