“Old Town Road” rapper Lil Nas X and former Fox News White House correspondent Greg Kelly went to war on Twitter this week, over the musician’s controversial performance at the 2022 Grammys on Sunday.
“Lil NAS has a BIG PROBLEM (And so does America) — knock yourself out NAS. You’re a little FOOL with zero talent!!!!” Kelly tweeted on Monday.
The “Industry Baby” rapper wore a beaded crop top that exposed his abdomen and repeatedly grabbed his crotch during the performance, which is considerably tamer than the time he slid down a stripper pole and felt up his male backup dancers on “Saturday Night Live.”
Surprisingly, Lil Nas replied to the Newsmax anchor’s social media slight. “damn greg all i did was wear a crop top this time,” he posted along with two crying emojis.
Kelly quickly clapped back at the gay singer, who was who was nominated for five Grammy awards, but took home none.
“It’s not the shirt NAS—it was the PUBLIC LEWDNESS,” Kelly snapped. “You know there are LAWS about that in certain “jurisdictions”—but then again you were in VEGAS so who the hell knows. Bottom line: SING AND DANCE but no public self GROPING. DECENCY!”
Though he was the one being attacked, Lil Nas was responsible for deescalating the situation. “apologies. have a great night,” he responded.
Kelly also backed down and managed to choke out a backhanded apology of his own.
“I didn’t like the performance,” Kelly posted. “That shouldn’t have been on prime time television. BUT, I can’t deny you have real talent. And it’s not nice to Call anyone a fool! You called me out in a ‘good natured’ way. NP. Good luck, continued success, just tone it down a notch Next year!”
