We’re tracking the conservative culture clash with woke Hollywood hypocrites to keep you up to date on who’s winning and who we hate.

Here’s what happened today:

Boycott

The NAACP asked professional athletes to stop signing with teams in Texas due to their recent changes to voting and abortion laws.

NAACP President and CEO Derrick Johnson sent a letter to Players Associations of the NBA, NFL, WNBA, NHL, and MLB, imploring pros to “seek employment with sports teams located in states that will protect, honor and serve your families with integrity.”

“From abortion to voting rights and mask mandates, Texas has become a blueprint by legislators to violate constitutional rights for all, especially for women, children, and marginalized communities,” Johnson wrote.

“As we watch an incomprehensible assault on basic human rights unfold in Texas, we are simultaneously witnessing a threat to constitutional guarantees for women, children, and marginalized communities,” he continued.

The letter accuses Texas legislators of passing “archaic policies, disguised as laws,” that violate women’s privacy rights, restrict voter access for minorities, and increase coronavirus risk. “If you are a woman, avoid Texas. If you are Black, avoid Texas. If you want to lower your chances of dying from coronavirus, avoid Texas.”

The letter accused Texas of being hostile towards many communities by limiting election access, despite census data showing that people of color have driven 95% of the state’s population growth.

“Yet, new voting legislation and political maps put these communities at risk of not being able to participate in their democracy,” the letter accused. “These laws are intended to suppress our constitutional right to vote.”

Johnson also criticized the state’s Attorney General for suing school districts that require students to wear masks. “We are now pleading with you — if you are a free agent and are considering employment in Texas, look elsewhere,” the letter urged athletes.

“The Texas government will not protect your family. Demand that Texas owners invest in your rights and protect your investments. Texas is not safe for you, your spouse, or your children. Until the legislation is overturned, Texas isn’t safe for anyone.”

Porn

Gwyneth Paltrow and Jada Pinkett Smith discussed how pornography is bad for women because it sends the message that they should be “f**kable.” During a recent episode of her show “Red Table Talk,” Smith said that porn has “really messed us up.”

“I’m supposed to be there for every whim, every pleasure, it’s like, ‘woah, woah, woah,’” Smith remarked. “And the women’s pleasure doesn’t even matter! It’s not even thought about!”

Paltrow agreed with the sentiment. “And then the other layer which I find really disturbing is that because of the imagery that comes out and the consciousness that comes out around porn, I feel like girls – young girls – are getting the message that they have to be f**kable.”

“Like, that’s the number one priority, right? It’s so awful, right, and it’s like, it’s doing such a disservice,” she continued. “I feel like we’re living in a such weird time because we’re making all these incredible advances, and then we’re going backwards with all these other things.”

Smith admitted to having an “unhealthy relationship” with porn during a period she was attempting to practice abstinence. After reading up about the effects of pornography, she thinks that it gives people “false expectations as far as sexual interactions.”

“I can definitely see that with men. How a woman should always be willing and ready. She should be ready to have sex however he wants, in any position, anywhere, and you should enjoy it no matter what,” she added.

Protest

NBA star Enes Kanter, who has been going hard at China since last week for their human rights violations, took another jab at the country on social media Thursday.

“Change is coming and no one can stop it, “NO ONE!!!” he tweeted along with the hashtags, “#FreeTibet #FreeUyghurs #FreeHongKong #StandWithTaiwan.”

Last week Kanter called out Chinese president Xi Jinping for being a “brutal dictator,” over his treatment of Tibetians, and bashed Nike for putting profits above people by “staying silent” about the “oppression of minorities in China.”

Mocked

“One Day at a Time” star Valerie Bertinelli, 61, went after conservative author Gad Saad online when he posted a story about his wife’s confusion over pronoun usage on social media.

“My wife walked up to the server at our local cafe,” he wrote on Twitter Wednesday. “The person was possibly transgender. She wanted to engage the individual but was frozen in fear that she might use a pronoun that might offend.”

“Therein lies the problem with this language policing, he continued. “It takes perfectly natural social situations and in the quest to not offend an extraordinarily small minority (who of course deserve to live fully dignified lives like anyone else), everyone is walking on egg [shells].

Bertinelli suggested alternatives that his wife could have used, and accused him of “looking for targets,” so he could “cry victim” when people defended them.

“’Hi’ ‘Pardon me’ ‘How are you this morning?’ ‘May I please have’ ‘Thank you,’” she replied. “Language you can use without worrying about someone’s pronouns. But you don’t really care about that, do you? You’re just looking for targets, then you can cry victim when people come to their defense.”

Saad did indeed complain about the criticism he received about his posts. “Wow the hate that I’ve received today from ‘tolerant’ folks because I shared a tweet about my wife being unsure how to address a barista (in terms of pronouns) has broken my all-time record for tweet impressions in a day!” he wrote. “To some apparently, progressive hate is an elixir of life.”

Bertinelli retweeted his response, along with the caption: “Clockwork.”

Climate Change

A talking dinosaur warned humans about climate change fueled extinction in a video the United Nations released to support their “Don’t Choose Extinction” campaign.

The CGI dinosaur, voiced in English by actor Jack Black, startles members of the U.N. General Assembly Hall, when he strides up to the speaker’s podium in the video.

“You’re headed for a climate disaster. And yet every year governments spend hundreds of billions of public funds on fossil fuel subsidies,” the dinosaur tells the audience.

“Think of all the other things you could do with that money. Around the world people are living in poverty. Don’t you think helping them would make more sense than, I don’t know, paying for the demise of your entire species?!” He continues.

“So here’s my wild idea: Don’t choose extinction. Save your species before it’s too late. It’s time for you humans to stop makin’ excuses and start makin’ changes,” the dinosaur concludes to a standing ovation.
