Fox News’ meteorologist Janice Dean went after the celebrities that praised former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo during the pandemic, calling them out by name and demanding an apology for lauding him.
“It would be very helpful if some of these celebrities that fawned over @andrewcuomo fessed up to their terrible judgment and apologized to the women and families affected by their tone-deaf comments last year,” Dean tweeted. “But they won’t.“
She then named some of his famous supporters, including Whoopi Goldberg, Billy Joel, Billy Crystal, Rosie Perez, Ben Stiller, Chelsea Handler, Sarah Silverman, and Cher.

“In the darkest days of the pandemic, your daily briefings, live from New York, gave us hope, gave us clarity, gave us the truth, and gave us something we were not getting from Washington: Leadership,” Billy Crystal preened,
“I’m in love with Andrew Cuomo,” Cher tweeted, while Chelsea Handler wrote an article for Vogue in March 2020 titled, “Dear Andrew Cuomo, I Want to Be Your First Lady.”
“Out of the darkness, you, Andrew Cuomo, walk into my life, looking remarkably like the Incredible Hulk.… Thank you, Andrew Cuomo,” she fawned. “Thank you for reminding us that there are men who can lead and be clear and tell the truth—even when the news is bad. Who practice benevolent ruthlessness.”
Cuomo’s famous fans have been largely silent as his political career went up in flames, after the New York Attorney General concluded that Cuomo had broken state and federal laws while sexually harassing and retaliating against female subordinates.
Dean has arguably been Cuomo’s fiercest critic after both her inlaws, in separate New York assisted living facilities, died back to back days after the former governor’s administration instituted a policy that allowed nursing homes and assisted living facilities to admit COVID patients.
When the disgraced politician resigned as a result of the damning report findings, Dean celebrated with a series of tweets. “Omg … It’s happening … He. Is. Out. God bless America,” she cheered.
