TLC’s “19 Kids and Counting” patriarch, Jim Bob Duggar, lost by a landslide in a Republican primary election for the Arkansas Senate. Hours prior, his son-in-law, Derick Dillard accused him of being a “verbally abusive liar.”
In the wake of son Josh Duggar’s fresh federal conviction for possession of child pornograhy, challenger Colby Fuller beat out Duggar with 46.67% of the vote to the reality star’s abysmal 15.34%
“I want to thank those of you who voted for me, volunteered, contributed, and supported me in my race for Arkansas State Senate District 7,” he posted in concession on Facebook.
“I am so honored to have been surrounded by some really great people in this campaign. It has been a difficult season for our family, so I am particularly grateful to those of you who have offered your prayers and encouragement.”
Right before the election, Duggar’s former close friend, Jim Holt, took to Facebook to expose Jim Bob’s alleged deceit, with a claim that he lied about Josh’s disgusting obsession in the past and during the trial.
“It was clear he perjured himself on the witness stand at the evidentiary hearing on November 29, 2021,” the post read. Jim Bob was always conservative in many areas when I served with him from 2001-2002. The problem I have is… If he lied to his BEST FRIEND and he lied UNDER OATH, will he lie to YOU?”
Son-in-law Derick Dillard had a scathing response about wife Jill’s father in the comments. “It’s sad that this isn’t an isolated incident. I used to have much respect for Jim Bob, as my father-in-law, and I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt for years,” he began.
Dillard claimed Jim Bob habitually lied to both himself and his wife. “Unfortunately, it’s only become clearer to us over time just how deep this man’s manipulation and deceit will go for his own gain, at the expense of others.”
“Contrary to his campaign, he does not believe in freedom, but his manipulation has resulted in what is akin to human trafficking,” he continued. “When confronted privately, he is not humble, but he is defensive and verbally abusive.”
Dillard said that Duggar has a “history” of selling out for profit and will put his personal agenda over the good of the public. “Again, if he has lied and continues to lie to his best friends and his own family, will he LIE to YOU,” he concluded
