The Jimmy Kimmel Live host expressed his astonishment that nearly half of the country cast their ballots for “insane” Trump in the 2020 election.
On his Wednesday night show, Kimmel opened with a joke that “the last 24-hours have been a poller-coaster of emotions and nausea.”
He took a hard swing at Republican voters calling them sexist and racist. “Joe Biden definitely did better than Hillary Clinton, he was able to pick up the sexist vote, but he didn’t do as well among racists.”
Kimmel couldn’t believe that Biden didn’t clearly sweep the election as Democratic Hollywood worked so hard to make happen. “I’m very happy and relieved that it looks like we’re finally sending this monster back to Mar-a-Lago. But I’m also shocked that it was this close,” the comedian told his viewers. “I mean, we reunited the cast of every movie and TV show ever made to win this election.”
“It is unimaginable to me that close to half of American voters saw what this man has done to this country over the last four years,” citing Trump’s diplomatic relationships with Putin and Kim Jung-Un, how he “alienated the free press,” and refused to reveal his tax returns.
“He is a liar and a cheat who wants them to stop counting thousands of legitimate votes, and almost half of us are apparently okay with that,” Kimmel said. “Half of us want to keep it going four more years.
The late-night host unapologetically supports Joe Biden over the president, “What more did Trump have to do to show us that he’s insane and not fit to lead this country? I feel like I overestimated the American people.”
Kimmel has been rattled by the long election process, tweeting out his agitation throughout the wait.
