Liberal co-host of ABC’s “The View,” Joy Behar, said freedom of speech will be censored if Republicans knock out Democrats in the 2022 primaries, and Whoopi Goldberg claimed women will lose all their rights.
Behar’s commentary came after the show aired a clip of Democratic strategist James Carville’s remark that “Democrats whine too much” and advocated for the party to fight and “tell the exact truth” to America.
“He’s a whiner,” Behar said in reaction, while Goldberg claimed that the media refused to report on the Biden administration’s successes, “because the real conversation is about what’s going to happen in the midterms and if you-know-who [Trump] is coming back.”
Co-host Sunny Hostin laughably said that the White House missed out on the opportunity to pass legislation after Jan. 6, when they “in good faith” decided to “reach across the aisle to the very people that are trying to delegitimize [Biden’s] presidency” and have vowed to work against him.
Behar parlayed the conversation into world politics: “I read a lot about what’s going on in the world, Hungary, Poland,” she snarked. “They are doing very badly with the freedom of speech… They are censoring journalists. That will happen here.”
“That will happen here, I think, if the Republicans are back in power,” she continued. “You can see that they’re intractable right now. You can not reason with these people. They are shameless.”
“And they will destroy us,” Behar ranted. “I sound like it’s hyperbole, but I’ve been around a long time, and I see what can happen.”
Hostin concurred that she “thinks it’s true” that history repeats itself. “The Democrats sort of do this over and over and over again,” she added. “They get into power, they save the country, and they lean to the middle.”
Which she claimed ultimately led to the party putting up agendas that caused them to lose power. Goldberg concluded the segment by warning women they were going to lose their right to vote if the Republicans win the primaries.
