The famed rapper DMX is now on life support and reportedly in a ‘vegetative state’ after an overdose.
The 50-year-old DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, is reportedly registering no brain activity.
As The New York Post reports:
DMX’s family is asking for prayers as the famed rapper is in a “vegetative state” following a drug overdose and heart attack last week.
“We ask that you please keep Earl/DMX and us in your thoughts, wishes, and prayers, as well as respect our privacy as we face these challenges,” the family of the rapper (born Earl Simmons), wrote in a statement to People.
Bikers sporting gear from his “Ruff Ryders” collective have gathered around White Plains Hospital in Westchester, where the 50-year-old “X Gon’ Give It to Ya” rapper remains on life support, and plan to hold a prayer vigil Monday.

DMX is currently in a “vegetative state,” his manager, Nakia Walker, told the New York Times on Sunday.
