The Backlash over Kamala Harris’s Vogue Cover

Vogue and editor Anna Wintour are taking heat for the way Vice President-elect Kamala Harris was photographed for the cover of the magazine’s February issue.

Here’s why people were outraged:

The Photo Choice

The photo, where Harris appears casually open, wearing Chuck Taylors, almost looks like it was a test shot, rather than professionally styled.

Not the Cover They Agreed On

Harris’s team and Vogue mutually agreed upon a photo that was not the one the magazine chose to feature.

The Original Photo

The agreed upon snap is Harris standing in a power pose, wearing a powder blue suit below.

Criticism

One user accused Vogue of jumbling the cover.

Washed Out

Then went on to accuse the magazine of washing out Harris’s skin tone.

Lazy Photography

Another accused Vogue of using a backdrop that is “lazy and in a color meant to wash out Kamala Harris’s beautiful skin tone.” Then posted other Harris magazine covers as reference.

Wintour Out

One user called for ousting Wintour from her long-held position as Editor-in-Chief of the magazine.

Pattern

Another said: “Anyone shocked by the poor quality of Kamala’s Vogue cover hasn’t paid attention to Anna Wintour’s bull***t w/people of color. It spans decades.”

Wintour’s Rebuttal

“Obviously we have heard and understood the reaction to the print cover and I just want to reiterate that it was absolutely not our intention to, in any way, diminish the importance of the vice president-elect’s incredible victory,” Wintour said in a statement.  “We want nothing but to celebrate Vice President-elect Harris’ amazing victory and the important moment this is in America’s history, and particularly for women of color all over the world.”

Photo Choice

“There was no formal agreement about what the choice of the cover would be,” Wintour claimed. “When the two images arrived at Vogue, all of us felt very, very strongly that the less formal portrait of the vice president-elect really reflected the moment that we were living in, which we were in the midst, as we still are, of the most appalling pandemic that is taking lives by the minute.”

I am making a good pay from home $1400-$2700/week, which is amazing, under a year back I was jobless in a horrible economy. I offer thanks toward God reliably I was regarded with these bearings and now it’s my commitment to give preemptive grace and offer it with Everyone, Here……

She will be president. Two years and a day after Joe Bite Me is in, the Democrats will declare him mentally unfit and she’s the White House for the rest of the term. They expect her to run two more times for a total of 10 years of Camel Face in the White House. They are expecting the country to be totally destroyed by then.

The first of a million times KA-mala will grace the cover of some b.s. American magazine that no reads.
But since we’re talking about magazine covers, how many times did these leftist irrelevant magazines put gorgeous and beautiful Melania Trump on the covers of ANY magazine(s) in 4 years?????????

You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig. Many may think she looks good but because I know her politics she turns my stomach.

How can she be VP if she can’t even say to a photographer “I don’t want to be photographed in this outfit.”? Will she be able to stand up to N. Korea? Make tough decisions? Not everything that happens in life that you don’t like is racist.
