We’re tracking the conservative culture clash with woke Hollywood hypocrites to keep you up to date on who’s winning and who we hate.
Here’s what happened today:
Pittsburgh Steelers backup quarterback Dwayne Haskins was assaulted by his wife earlier this month while they were in Las Vegas renewing their wedding vows.
Kalabrya Gondrezick-Haskins was charged with domestic battery and violence after an argument about their evening plans led her to punch the QB in the face and knock his tooth out. Haskins was treated at a local hospital for facial injuries, and police officers reportedly located his tooth in the room.
Gondrezick-Haskins is set to appear in court on Aug. 3.
In an open letter to Notre Dame University through the campus newspaper, a group of students, faculty and alumni requested that Chick-fil-A be banned from campus dining.
The student writers Tilly Keeven-Glascock and Joey Jegier said the fast food chain has donated millions to “queerphobic groups,” like Christian Athletes, and said owner Dan Cathy’s personal donations to the National Christian Charitable Foundation, would help “fund hate groups.”
They also said the brand’s “deplorable” practice of industrialized farming is putting a “burden” on “marginalized communities.”
“There are a multitude of reasons to oppose Chick-fil-A: its anti-LGBTQ+ activism, reliance on animal agriculture, and lack of accommodations for students with special dietary needs, to name a few,” they wrote. “Bringing Chick-fil-A to campus would run contrary to Notre Dame’s commitment to inclusion and desire to create good in the world.”
Amazon employees are threatening to quit their jobs after the online retail giant refused to stop selling a bestselling book about the popularity of the transgender movement amongst young girls and how it may be influencing them to make life-changing decisions prematurely.
Two workers have resigned over the continued sales of Abigail Shrier’s “Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters,” 467 corporate employees signed position to remove it.
Shrier’s not worried about the employee pushback. This issue won’t go away just because some disgruntled Amazon employees wish it would. And banning the book won’t help these girls or anyone else,” she commented. “My book goes out of its way to honor the experiences of transgender adults, never disparages them, and never implies that the trans identity is a mental illness.”
On A Break
Pretty Little Liars actress Lindsey Shaw announced she was taking a break from social media after she was attacked by online critics for mocking a viral dance video that was created by a black man.
“Hey. Are we OK? What the f–k is this?” she joked in a TikTok video, mimicking the dance in slow mo, alongside the caption “Millennials win.”
When legions of haters gave her hell for the ribbing, she apologized in a tearful follow-up. The hate mail in my inbox is not OK. OK? I did not mean anything in any kind of way,” she claimed. “I’m not here to offend or belittle anybody. At all. I thought that the millennial and Gen Z thing was a thing on TikTok. This intention wasn’t that serious, y’all.”
“I am learning every day, as I think everybody is. And this kind of hate just needs to evaporate from the planet no matter who it’s towards,” she went on. “I am sorry you were offended… I think for my own mental health I need to take a step back from social media.”
Alec Baldwin’s wife Hilaria, who was criticized last year for claiming that she was raised in Spain and speaking with a Spanish accent despite growing up in the United States, has decided to identify as “culturally” fluid.
“When you are multi, it can feel hard to belong,” Hilaria posted on Instagram.“You are constantly going back and forth, trying to be more this or more that. You feel you have to explain why you are the way you are, trying to fit into a world of labels when there might not be one that perfectly defines you. You will never quite fit in because the other parts of you shape and influence all your parts.”
“We need to normalize the fact that we are all unique ― our culture, languages, sexual orientations, religions, political beliefs are ALLOWED TO BE FLUID,” she continued. “No two of us are completely alike.”
Meghan Markle pal Priyanka Chopra noticeably ignored Prince William and Kate Middleton while they were entering the Royal Box at the women’s singles final at Wimbledon on Saturday.
The “Quantico” star refused to clap with the crowd as the royal couple was being seated, and pointedly avoided making eye contact with them while mingling with other VIP guests.
Chopra was a guest at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s 2018 wedding.
The Biden Admin tapped Disney sensation, Olivia Rodrigo, to convince the nation’s youth to get vaccinated in their latest public health strategy.
“Olivia Rodrigo is stopping by the White House today with a clear message to young people: get vaccinated. It’s the best way to keep yourself and your loved ones safe from the dangerous new COVID-19 variants,” the President announced.
“I am beyond honored and humbled to be here today to help spread the message about the importance of youth vaccination,” the “Driver’s License” singer gushed. “I am in awe of the work President Biden and Dr. Fauci have done and was happy to help lend my support.”
