Kanye West, now known as Ye, released a video Sunday confirming he will be attempting another Presidental run. West has talked about running for President since the 2015 release of The Life Of Pablo, one of his most acclaimed albums, but hasn’t formally attempted a Presidental run since 2020.
While a polarizing celebrities decision to run for President is enough to make himself trend on social media, it’s the interns and friends who are serving as assistance to West throughout his 2024 Presidental run that sparked the most discussion.
West has been spotted in multiple videos throughout the past few days with Milo Yiannopoulos, a polarizing yet popular right-wing figure, former Breitbart staffer, and most recently an intern for Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. In the video, West says that Milo Yiannopoulos is “working on the campaign.”
West officially answered the question as to whether he was running in 2024 in an X17Online interview. X17 Online asked Kanye
“So you are running?”
West responded with,
“Yes…It’s simple,” adding, “It’s just we’re moving toward the future.”
Elon Musk has been a fan of West’s for many years due to his ability to go from someone making and selling beats for successful rap artists, then eventually wearing down producers and managers into giving him a shot at rapping himself.
Musk appears to politically align himself closer to the right, and aims to shift Twitter into a platform that allows widespread and diverse opinions. Recently, Musk has unbanned the Twitter accounts of former President Donald Trump, Jordan Peterson, and the Babylon Bee, and has been hesitant to crack down on West for his controversial Tweets.
West, who recently purchased Parler, a social media company created with the intention of allowing free speech, Tweeted for the first time since November 4th:
Musk responded to West saying:
Now owning Parler, having an active account on Twitter, and having right-wing celebrities such as Milo Yiannopoulos confirmed to be working with West, his 2024 Presidental campaign is slated to be better than his 2020 Presidental campaign already.
Since West’s 2020 Presidental campaign stalled due to not submitting proper forms to get his name officially on the ballot in 2020, West stated that he was eyeing the 2024 presidential election. The Hill also slated Ye as one of the top five independent candidates most likely to run in 2024.
