Carrie Underwood Under Fire For Liking Tweet Criticizing School Mask Mandates

Country singer Carrie Underwood was slammed on Twitter by liberal social media users after liking a tweet that bashed school mask mandates. 

The former “American Idol” winner and Nashville resident “liked” a tweet by Daily Wire commentator Matt Walsh, where he criticized the Metro Nashville Public School district at a school board meeting over instituting “cruel and indefensible” mask mandates for children. 

“You in the school board have decided that our kids should go to school all day every day wearing muzzles like rabid dogs,” he said in the video. “I have listened to your arguments and I’ve noticed that they’re missing a few things, namely evidence, data, science, common sense and basic human decency.”

The school board voted to mandate masks for all students after the CDC’s updated guidelines recommended indoor masking for all children ages two and up.   

“You do it to make yourselves feel better and to protect yourselves politically,” Wash argued. “The child’s mask is a symbolic security blanket for you, not them. It’s a disgrace and you should all be ashamed.”

Liberal critics were quick to roast the “Jesus Take the Wheel” singer. “Carrie Underwood being a God-over-Science person is the least surprising thing I’ve heard today,” replied one commenter. “Delta take the wheel.”

“It’s not just that Carrie Underwood liked an anti-mask tweet,” complained another. “It’s that Carrie Underwood liked an anti-mask tweet from Matt Walsh, one of those most negligently histrionic voices on the topic of protecting kids from COVID.”

Walsh jokingly joined the woke warriors and jeered at Underwood himself. “Like anyone else, I am upset and disturbed that Carrie Underwood liked one of my tweets,” he wrote.

“She should know better than to indirectly endorse the opinions of an extremist and scoundrel such as myself,” Walsh continued. “Her lack of judgment is appalling. I demand that she renounce me and apologize.”
