GOP Superstar Abby Huntsman Leaves ‘The View’

Former Fox News host Abby Huntsman is stepping down from her position as a co-host at ‘The View.’ As THR reports:

The View co-host Abby Huntsman is stepping down from the ABC morning show.

Huntsman, who has been with The View since September 2018, is leaving the show to work with her father, Jon Huntsman, as he campaigns for Utah’s governorship and to spend more time with family. She’s set to announce her departure on Monday’s show.

“ABC has been my family for a long time and I am so thankful to have had a seat at the table on an iconic show like The View,” Huntmsan wrote in a memo to the show’s staff (read the full memo below). “After much deliberation over the holidays, I have decided to leave the show to dedicate myself full-time in support of my dad and his campaign for governor of Utah.”

A former Fox News reporter and host of Fox and Friends Weekend, Huntsman told The Hollywood Reporter shortly after her View tenure began that she was excited to return to the place where she began her career. She was a news desk assistant at ABC News and assistant booker for Good Morning America before moving to on-air roles at HuffPost Live and MSNBC, then to Fox News.

Although Huntsman has stated that she is stepping down to spend more time with her family and help her father with his campaign, rumors have swirled that tensions between Huntsman and Meghan McCain had recently reached a boiling point on the show.
