Legendary rapper Dr. Dre was rushed to the hospital last night after suffering an apparent brain aneurysm.
As Cnet reports:
Rapper Dr. Dre has been hospitalized after suffering a brain aneurysm. The music mogul, whose real name is Andre Young, is being treated at the intensive care unit at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Dre is reportedly lucid and in stable condition, but doctors are trying to determine the cause of the bleeding…
Aneurysms occur when an artery wall becomes weak, causing the blood vessel wall to balloon and sometimes bleeding into the surrounding area. The causes aren’t always clear, but common causes include high blood pressure and atherosclerosis, the collection of fat and cholesterol on the artery walls.
Later that night Dre’s team sent out a statement on instagram giving an update on his condition:

To add insult to injury, as ABC7 reports, later that night Dre’s house was the target of an attempted burglary:
BRENTWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — While Dr. Dre was in the hospital for a possible brain aneurysm, his home in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles was the apparent target of a burglary ring Tuesday night, though police say nothing was taken.
Police say the suspects would bang on fences and doors before breaking into homes. Authorities initially believed the group may have been targeting Vice President-elect Kamala Harris’ house in the area. But investigators determined a home owned by Dr. Dre, born Andre Young, was the actual target.
The burglars attempted to break into Dr. Dre’s home around 10 p.m. but were not able to get inside, according to Los Angeles police.
