Anti-Trump ABC news anchor George Stephanopoulos may be taking over the recently deceased Alex Trebek’s post as the host of the beloved game show Jeopardy.
At least, he will if Stephanopoulos gets his way. Until recently it had been assumed by many that ‘Jeopardy’ legend Ken Jennings was being groomed for the role.
As The New York Post reports:
Reps for ABC News journalist George Stephanopoulos are lobbying for him to take over as host of “Jeopardy!,” according to The Wrap, citing a “highly placed” source.
The website says the 59-year-old — who co-anchors “Good Morning America” on ABC — has been “actively” chasing the role.
ABC, which has the syndication rights to the game show, will have to decide on a replacement with the game show’s distributor, CBS Television, and producer Sony Television.
The iconic game show host died Sunday at age 80 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

I was just thinking those very words. I’ve watched Jeopardy every chance I could for as long as I can remember it being on, but if this asshat takes over as host, no more Jeopardy for me. I can’t stand looking at him or listening to him.

I haven’t watched the show in decades. I always liked Alex, but a arrogant blow hard like Georgey Steph will be a disaster for ratings.
The savior to this show would be to revamp it and get a very striking woman on there! That would at least keep the male viewership steady, and may spike the ratings for people to JUST tune in to see who’s on it.
My wife and I will not watch Jeopardy if Stephanopoulos forces his way into the wonderful program Mr. Trebek nurtured. Mr. Jennings will be a more respectful fit and will honor the memory of Mr. Trebek. Stephanopoulos in Mr. Trebek’s role will be a slap in our face and Mr. Trebek’s face.
