Best-selling and all-time classic children’s author Roald Dahl has sold over 300 million copies of books throughout the entire world. His children’s books are a staple of many people’s childhoods, including classics such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, and Matilda.

These censorship efforts come on behalf of Inclusive Minds,  a progressive and left-wing ideology-based company that is focused on pushing its agenda in an attempt to change “the face of children’s books,” as they have stated.

CNN found a total of 59 changes in “The Witches” alone, and they reported hundreds of edits and censorings throughout Dahl’s other popular books, including “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” and “Matilda.”

It comes as no surprise that the changes in his books come in topics surrounding insulting words such as “fat” or “ugly,” words that can be used to describe large or unsightly objects just as it can be used to describe people as well, as children have also been using these words since the dawn of time as well.

Removing and censoring these words in hopes that children will no longer use them is an effort that is a waste of time and sets a bad precedent for censoring books that are otherwise appropriate literature for children. This comes at a time when left-wing LGBTQ activists are clutching their pearls as books such as “Gender Queer: A Memoir” by Maia Kobabe are no longer being allowed in school districts.

Any sane person can see the obvious difference between “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and “Gender Queer: A Memoir.” One belongs in school districts, and the other clearly does not.
