The embattled Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo signed a bill today which will completely legalize the consumption of Marijuana by adults in New York State.
The move is big news, but also comes in the wake of a series of accusations of sexual misconduct against the governor in addition to a scandal over nursing home deaths, leading many to suspect that it may be a ploy to distract the public.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday signed a bill legalizing recreational marijuana in New York.
The move comes after the state Legislature green-lit the Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act after hours of debate late Tuesday.
“This is a historic day in New York — one that rights the wrongs of the past by putting an end to harsh prison sentences, embraces an industry that will grow the Empire State’s economy, and prioritizes marginalized communities so those that have suffered the most will be the first to reap the benefits,” Cuomo said in a statement.
Certain parts of the new law go into effect immediately.

They compare alcohol consumption to marijuana. The difference is that most people drink without the intent to become intoxicated, while marijuana users start with the intent to become intoxicated and mentally and physically impaired. It a difference of the mind set as it in a lot of cases leads to using more potent and dangerous drugs.
Well, no! A person with addictive personality traits will definitely drink to get drunk as he will smoke to get blasted. BUT, many folks, healthy folks, have a drink or two to relax. The same is true for marijuana. It is the person not the drug. Alcohol is addictive, pot is not. So, stop it. Personal experience from a 63 year old. The problem with these laws is putting in safeguards for abusers. They should be on there own.

I know a lot of people that drink to get drunk. Smoking pot does not make you impaired to the point that you fall over.
the only reason anyone drinks is for the effect anybody who says differently lying to them selves because nobody else believes them
