Susan Sarandon Protests At AOC’s Office

Liberal actress Susan Sarandon was seen protesting outside of radical-left Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s New York office this week for failing to support Medicare for All.  

“I’m here to say to the squad, and especially AOC, who, you know did make a lot of promises, that we still have faith in you and we would like to see if you have a better plan than we’ve been able to see, please share it,” Sarandon said on Monday. “If there’s a pathway you’ve got that we’re not aware of, please share it. Because we’re losing hope here that you represent us.”

The protest was staged outside of AOC’s office in The Bronx on Monday afternoon, where organizers from the People’s Party called out Bernie Sanders, Squad members, and House progressives for running on the Medicare for All platform, but “not FIGHTING for it as if our lives depend on it.”

They accused the members of congress for having access to “the best healthcare in the world,” but leaving their supporters to suffer with lackluster care after failing to leverage the Speaker vote prior to the passage of the stimulus bill.  

“A public option doesn’t cut it and lowering the age of Medicare eligibility to 60 leaves millions of Americans without coverage,” their online petition on The Action Network read. “Healthcare is a human right and an age-based system is archaic and inhumane.”

“Insurance isn’t healthcare,” organizers continued. “Placating insurance companies who pour billions into election cycles and lobbying rather than keeping promises to the people is wrong.”

The website also listed the group’s demands, including asking members of Congress to withhold their votes as a condition for passing single-payer, using their social media followings to organize for Medicare for All, and calling on President Biden to “declare a pandemic public health emergency and expand Medicare to every American.”

“It’s so difficult for people that are independent to get elected in the first place,” Sarandon concluded at the protes. “And then to see the very people that sponsored the bill not stand up for it, is very disheartening.”
