Legendary singer Willie Nelson is getting sick of answering questions about politics and legalizing marijuana.
“I’ve been asked if I believe people should be allowed to kneel during the national anthem,” he said in his book Letters to America. “Regarding peaceful protests and just about anything else, I believe everyone should do whatever the f— they want to do.”
He doesn’t care if Americans buy his music, watch sports, or attend gay nuptials, their decisions are their own.
“You don’t have to watch sports if you don’t like the players’ personal beliefs. You don’t have to attend a gay wedding if you don’t want to,” he continued. “You don’t have to buy my music, and I ain’t gonna change the way I think so you will. We all make our own decisions. I’m trying to make mine with love.”
He’s also tired of fielding questions about marijuana use but is surprised to see that it has become so widely accepted. “But as the years passed and more and more people saw money, it changed a lot of minds,” he explained. “And they realized that it didn’t make you crazy — you might have been crazy to start with, but smoking marijuana won’t make you crazy.”
“So they realized that it’s not for everybody, but for some people, it’s good medicine, and there’s also that bottom line that’s drawing more and more people to it,” he went on.
Nelson has been long associated with marijuana, even launching his own brand, Willie’s Reserve, after claiming that smoking cannabis saved his life.
“I wouldn’t be alive. It saved my life, really. I wouldn’t have lived… if I’d have kept drinking and smoking like I was when I was 30, 40 years old,” he commented. “I think that weed kept me from wanting to kill people. And probably kept a lot of people from wanting to kill me, too — out there drunk, running around.”
Nelson’s not worried that his legacy will go up in smoke. “Time will let you know how good you were,” he remarked. “And if you’re still around and still active when you’re 88 years old, you got to be kind of proud of what you did. And I am.”

Willie is just another of those people that cares about no one but himself, his beliefs are what has created all the wars as people of one nation think they should be able to do what they want and are willing to kill those that don’t believe the same as them.

Good idea but that is not the cse today. There is NO FREE LUNCH! High pot use can cause lung cancer as there is an oil in it that sticks in the lungs. Over time it can cause an UNCUREABLE cancer. I know an admitted 70’s hippie that has it. She said she smoked a lot in her younger days and pot is the cause. She said she didn’t smoke anything else. Pays your nickel and takes your chances. Good Luck!

Do we really care what Willie Nelson thinks? Not exactly a rocket scientist! Anyone can justify how they live, and what they do. Notice he openly smoked pot before it was legal. No recourse for it, such a great message. Now we will have even more brain dead and psychotic people for messing with their brains smoking pot. This is the belief of many doctors and psychiatrist. Is life so bad you need to be removed from it? Seek help not everyone needs medication talking with a professional can help one find his or her way.
Nelson has no clue about what he is saying. I agree that prior to the WOKE and Gay movements this all was true. We once functioned in a live and let live America.
