David And Victoria Beckham’s posh $52.5 million Holland Park mansion was burgled while the couple was home with their 10-year-old daughter, Harper.
Luckily, the masked thief did not attack the family, who were unaware of the home invasion until their youngest son Cruz, 17, noticed broken glass in a spare bedroom, when he arrived home after midnight.
David reportedly called local law enforcement and took Cruz to search the house for the intruder, who had already fled the premises. Victoria
The couple’s security system captured the masked bandit scaling the mansion’s front gate, climbing up the side of the house, and breaking in through an upstairs window.
The robber quickly snatched thousands of designer goods and electronics from the room he broke into, before scrambling back out of the smashed window. He is suspected to be part of a gang that targeted nearby homes on the same night.
Neither of the other robberies were successful, one property was vacant and the other was too fortified to force entry. The upscale neighborhood is home to high profile residents Elton John, Robbie Williams, and the London residence of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
No arrests have been made and the family is reportedly “shaken up” by the “invasion.” They have ordered a review of their security, which might be upgraded to include security guards like their $7.8 million estate has after two separate break-ins. Caution may be necessary, since an aggressive stalker was just charged for harassing the family this week.
Sharon Bell, 58, was released on conditional bail and slapped with a temporary stalking prevention order that keeps her from going near any of the Beckham homes, following or approaching any family members, or getting within 500m of Harper’s elementary school.
Bell believes she is in a relationship with the former LA Galaxy star, which he has denied. She sent three letters two both Beckman homes between July and September of last year, then attempted to contact Harper at her school in November.
She pleaded not guilty and will go to trial in mid-July. The judge said David will not have to testify because he cannot give “direct” evidence of Bell’s misdeeds.
