Major League Baseball Faces New Lawsuit Over Decision to Boycott Georgia Over Election Reform Laws

Major League Baseball is now facing a new lawsuit over its decision to move the MLB all-star game out of Atlanta in protest of that state’s new election reform laws.

As The Daily Wire reports:

A small business advocacy group sued Major League Baseball on Monday over its decision to pull the 2021 all-star game out of Atlanta, Georgia.

Job Creators Network sued the MLB, Commissioner Rob Manfred, MLB’s players union, and union executive director Tony Clark in a federal court in New York about two months after Manfred announced that the MLB was boycotting Georgia over election reforms. The MLB’s decision came days after President Joe Biden endorsed the league and other corporations wading into Georgia politics.

“MLB robbed the small businesses of Atlanta – many of them minority-owned – of $100 million, we want the game back where it belongs,” Job Creators Network president and CEO Alfredo Ortiz said in a statement. “This was a knee-jerk, hypocritical, and illegal reaction to misinformation about Georgia’s new voting law which includes Voter-ID. Major League Baseball itself requests ID at will-call ticket windows at Yankee Stadium in New York, Busch Stadium in St. Louis, and at ballparks all across the country.”

“Small businesses in this community had valid contracts relating to the All-Star Game and other events, the result of two years of planning and all that was ripped away by fear and misinformation spewed by political activists. Many states, including Colorado where the game has been moved, have similar or more restrictive election laws,” he continued. “This move essentially tells fans of teams in many other cities that they can never again host the All-Star Game; it’s hypocritical, illegal, and we won’t stand for it.”

It’s refreshing to finally see groups of normal everyday Americans standing up to the threats and intimidation attempts of woke companies like the MLB.

If America had spent the Money on advancing all Citizens like they have on ” Certain Citizens ” we would be the Greatest Nation On Earth instead of a Dying Nation .

But why is it the governments job to spend any money on advancing citizens? People should be given the opportunity to succeed, but it is up to them what they do with it. Sorry, not everyone grows up equally, but not all who grew up in poverty or with other obstacles failed – many succeeded. We need to stop thinking of government as our sugar daddy to help us get ahead! If we stuck to the constitution and had the restrictions on the federal government that should be in place, our country would be great!

SPOT-ON! I’ve always believed the Fed gov’t should only be in charge of a small handful of things (interstate only): Roads; Defense; Currency; Immigration; Foreign Policy; National Parks. Term limits: POTUS 2 terms (8 yrs); Senate 2 terms (12 yrs); House 4 terms (8 yrs); SCOTUS: 1 term (life). 50 stars, not 1 big star…

Well, now! If they won’t listen to reason, maybe they will listen to litigation. One thing about a radical leftist, they are very sensitive about their wealth being taken away from them.

Boycotting Georgia was just an all around stupid decision on the part of MLB. Siding with political agendas means always making an enemy of whatever side(s) that are opposed. There was no rational reasoning behind the move since where they decided to move to has equivalent issues to where they are boycotting. There was no gain for anyone.

I hope the MLB stands its ground, moves the game, pays $100 million and faces an empty stadium. The coup de e’tat would see the Braves boycotted and ceasing operation. Most of us have had it with all the creeps engaged in commercial athletics.

As much as I’ve love baseball for my 60 years, I’ve stopped watching and moved to watching high school and college games. The advocacy group should have sued for so much money, MLB should only be able to afford whiffle balls.

I agree with you on this guy being a moron. He makes Roger Goodell seem intelligent. I pray that MLB loses a lot of money to Atlanta.

If people are so frail or disabled then how do they get to their doctor, visit family, or do any activity? I have to assume someone helps them and if so why not ask that same person to take them to the voting booth to obtain an absentee ballot?
I suspect they are either just lazy or another person is filling out their mail-in ballot. Absentee ballots MUST be requested and only sent to registered voters. If the voter is proven infirm then perhaps the Board of Registration can appoint a certified employee to hand deliver a ballot to be signed and sealed and returned to the voting station. But this must only be offered to those unable to get to the court house or the voting booth. Bet it would be cheaper than paying postage for the sending and receiving of mail-in ballots.
