Claudia Conway, the troubled daughter of former top Trump Advisor Kellyanne Conway has now advanced to the next round of competition in the latest season of American idol.
The 16-year-old Conway has been a major source of controversy after see took to social media during 2020 to repeatedly attack both of her parents, as well as former President Trump
As The Hill reports:
Claudia Conway, the 16-year-old daughter of former Trump White House adviser Kellyanne Conway and anti-Trump attorney George Conway, made her debut as a contestant on “American Idol” over the weekend, earning advancement to the next round from the show’s panel of judges.
Ahead of her performance, the teenager, who has developed a large following on social media in recent months after multiple videos she made discussing her family life went viral, opened up in a pre-recorded clip about her personal experience moving to Washington, D.C., four years ago while her mother was working for former President Trump.
“I had to move to Washington, D.C., when I was 12, and I hated it,” Claudia Conway said in the clip. “When your mom’s working for the president of the United States, who you pretty much disagree with, it’s really hard.”
The appearance comes several months after Kellyanne and George Conway stepped down from their respective roles with the Trump White House and The Lincoln Project, an anti-Trump Republican group George Conway co-founded.
Many observers weren’t impressed however, claiming that the popular show was exploiting the young and troubled Conway merely to boost their ratings.
Is Conway’s appearance on the show a genuine reflection of her musical talent or is it just a cynical ploy to increase ratings? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
