‘South Park’ Creators Will Back Off Trump—See Why

“South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone said Thursday they plan to “back off” mocking President Donald Trump.

On ABC News Australia, the pair said last season it became difficult to make fun of what was happening during the election because reality was “much funnier than anything” they could write.

“It’s really tricky now because satire has kind of become reality,” Parker said. “And so it’s really hard to make fun of. And we actually in the last season of South Park–which just ended a month-and-a-half ago–we were really trying to make fun of what was going on but we couldn’t keep up and what was actually happening was much funnier than anything we could come up with.”

“So we decided to just kind of back off and let them do their comedy and we’ll do ours,” he added.
