The tech company ‘Basecamp’ has now raised eyebrows and the ire of many on the far-left by essentially banning woke politics from being discussed at work.

And many of the companies ultra-liberal employees were so enraged by the announcement that they quit their jobs en masse.

As The Daily Wire reports:

Last week, Basecamp became the latest tech company to effectively ban employees from talking about politics at work.

“Every discussion remotely related to politics, advocacy or society at large quickly spins away from pleasant,” Jason Fried, Basecamp’s chief executive, wrote in a blog post. “You shouldn’t have to wonder if staying out of it means you’re complicit, or wading into it means you’re a target.”

“We make project management, team communication, and email software,” Fried wrote. “We don’t have to solve deep social problems, chime in publicly whenever the world requests our opinion on the major issues of the day, or get behind one movement or another with time or treasure. These are all important topics, but they’re not our topics at work.”

According to reports, one-third of Basecamp’s 57 employees have since resigned, with some celebrating those who decided to leave the company.

@ Kay and Willie, not sure you read yet. This company took it back and came out with an apology.
They must have received alot of pushback. All the woke and SJW I’m sure came after them.
What a shame. This is the world we live in today.

I respect what you did very much. I agree.
I do feel our first amendment rights are in trouble.
I do hope we will retain this in our country. Taking a stand is always controversial.
However I do think it makes you stronger in your convictions.
And BTW, are you hiring??
Thanks Susan

Only 10 years ago, the “controversial” would be the woke insanity of these young and dumb idiots…not taking a stand against that insanity!

I know in 1991 when I served in Special Forces all of the woke idiots who served in the military would graduate to 2 to the head and they would call it a training accident!

So all the psycho “woke” warriors can go back to living in their mom’s basement, collect all the enhanced “Biden” don’t work incentives, and pretend they are oh so enlightened. Welcome to the brains of snowflakeism.

The great thing about those employees that quit is that this company stands on legal grounds should any want to challenge their policy. It’s called “acquiescence,” meaning, when they quit, they agreed with the decision. Those silly employees had better learn some law. To me it’s laughable. This was like little children getting mad and running home because their friend wouldn’t let them play jacks, not knowing that their running away was allowing the friend to win.

I’ll bet those who resigned, thinking they could rely on breastfeeding off of gov’t, don’t realize they cannot collect unemployment; unemployment is for people laid off or fired. Joke’s on them…

Right on, right on, right on!
That’s exactly how the work place should be, and how a company should react to the craziness of today’s woke society.
I’m clapping at the CEO.

Stand up for your principles. I like that. And if anyone left because of your new rule, then they weren’t very good employee’s to begin with. It means that instead of working, they wanted to gossip and complain. So my hat is off to you!

Well at least one company has the courage to put a stop to the leftist insanity in the workplace – well done – and it will in the long run be a good thing that all those radical leftist employees left the company.

Yay Basecamp! You did the right thing. Politics have no place in the work environment. For all those folks who quit – GOOD RIDDANCE! You will find 1000% better employees want to work, and will be thrilled to have a non-political environment. What a refreshing change this is. I applaud you!!!!!
