This Inauguration Performer is Eyeing Political Office

Kid Rock’s name has been mentioned as a possible Republican Senate candidate to take on Michigan Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow next year.

Roll call reported Tuesday that the 46-year-old rocker’s name — whose real name is Robert James Ritchie — came up during the Michigan Republican party convention over the weekend. However, no official name has yet to be announced as a contender for the seat.

The rocker backed Mitt Romney in 2012 and put his support behind Donald Trump once he became the Republican presidential nominee in 2016.

In July, the singer stepped in to kick-off the Republican National Convention in Cleveland after Joe Walsh from The Eagles backed out of performing at the show because he found out it was for “conservatives.”
