British-based publication the Guardian named 80-year-old top pandemic doc Anthony Fauci, “The Sexiest Man Alive,” and internet commenters are completely perplexed by their choice.
In the Guardian’s Instagram announcement, they described the NIH director as a “pop culture phenomenon” and “an unlikely cult hero for millions of people during the COVID pandemic.”
Social media users were stunned by the announcement. “Is this the plot of a Twilight Zone episode?” One user commented. “The sexiest gain of function research funder,” said another, while someone respond: “Sexiest garden gnome alive.”
“What in the propaganda is this?” One questioned. “Satire I assume?” Said another.
This guy summed it up: “Are you kidding me? Didn’t this guy just get caught lying AGAIN? And you guys are putting this s**t out? Is this a sick joke?”
Recall
Liberal celebrities trashed former president Donald Trump when reacting to California Governor Gavin Newsom’s recall win over conservative talk show host Larry Elder.
“Thanks for your leadership in the Golden State, Governor @GavinNewsom! TODAY every reasonable Californian will avoid electing a spectacularly unqualified radio talk-show host & tRump-wannabe by overwhelmingly rejecting the Republican Recall,” wrote “Star Wars” star Mark Hamill.
“I’m loving what I’m hearing so far. If things continue like this, big win for Newsom. And big kick in the a– to Trumpism,” wrote Rob Reiner.
“Congrats to Governor Gavin Newsom and First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom on their HUGE election win. THIS is the “radical change” we need: keeping unqualified Trump clones out of office, no matter who supports them,” said “Charmed” witch Alyssa Milano.

Deadly
British commentator Piers Morgan said watching a transgender MMA fighter, Alana McLaughlin, who was formerly a male member of the U.S. Army Special Forces, destroy a female opponent was “sickening.”
“Regardless of her military record or personal struggles growing up, none of this justifies what happened on Friday night. I found the bout sickening to watch,” Morgan said. “It was obvious very quickly that McLaughlin was too strong, and equally obvious that this strength came from the 33 years she spent as a biological man.”
He noted that the testosterone testing McLaughlin had submitted to before the match “does not reduce muscle density or power,” the fighter naturally possesses as a biological male, and suggested allowing hand-to-hand combat with biological females could have grave consequences.
“This creates a bad enough unfairness in non-contact sports like sprinting or weightlifting, but when it comes to combat sport like MMA it creates a potentially deadly disparity,” Morgan concluded.
McLaughlin took a jab at critics in an Instagram post following the fight. “Y’all need to show @cylinelagrande some respect and take your concern trolling elsewhere,” McLaughlin noted. “She almost finished me more than once, and on scorecards she definitely won that first round. Transphobes are just making my block hand stronger.”

Former “Real Housewives of Orange County” star Kelly Dodd called out Andy Cohen for saying she was “on the wrong side of history” for her behaviour during the pandemic during an episode of her podcast with husband Rick Leventhal.
“Andy Cohen came after me. Because we had our wedding on 10/10 then filmed the reunion?” Dodd alleged. “He was like ‘how dare you go travel and have a wedding in a pandemic? How could you?’”
“I was told I’m on the ‘wrong side of history’ for wanting kids in schools, trying to sell two of your homes in New York and Florida and here I am… three times as many cases now,” she continued. “But I was told I’m on the wrong side of history.”
“A wedding in a pandemic… I’m sorry there were 60,000 people in a stadium this past weekend for a football game and all across the country,” Leventhal added. “But there are three times as many cases now as there was a year ago and yet it’s okay to fill a stadium with people, but we were criticized for having a wedding with 30 people in our own home?”
Dismissed
Shock rocker and accused rapist, Marilyn Manson, 52, got a break after a California judge dismissed his accuser’s lawsuit due to exceeding the statute of limitations.
Jane Doe accused Manson of victimizing, exploiting, and sexually battering her when they dated in 2011, which his team has “strongly” denied.
Despite the ruling, the judge gave her lawyers 20 days to file a new complaint if they can “specifically plead facts” that show the memories she claimed to repress about the events could have caused her the inability to discover facts earlier. Manson is still facing sexual assault accusations from three other women.
Uncomfortable
English singer Ed Sheeran said he doesn’t enjoy US awards shows after performing at the MTV VMAs this weekend.
“The room is filled with resentment and hatred toward everyone else and it’s quite an uncomfortable atmosphere,” he said in a radio interview. “All the artists are sweet people, but they’re, like, surrounded by entourages that want them to win, too, so it’s one artist surrounded by 10 people and another artist surrounded by 10 people and everyone is kind of giving each other the side-eye.”
Sheeran noted that the experience is similar with all US based awards shows including the Grammys, AMAs, and Billboard Awards. “It’s nothing to do with MTV or the award show, it’s at all the other awards shows,” he went on. “It’s just lots of people wanting other people to fail and I don’t like that.”
“People get the same feeling as me at those award shows,” he said of other performers. “I’ve spoken to people and they’re like, ‘I just felt really depressed afterward.’ The atmosphere is just not nice m… It’s a really, really horrible atmosphere to be in there. I always walk away feeling sad and I don’t like it.”
Sheeran explained that awards shows on the other side of the pond don’t have the same competitive nature. “In England, our award shows are just like everyone gets drunk and no one really cares who wins or loses, it’s just sort of a good night out.”
