We’re tracking the conservative culture clash with woke Hollywood hypocrites to keep you up to date on who’s winning and who we hate.

Here’s what happened today:

Fighting Irish

A new survey found that Notre Dame’s Fighting Irish was the fourth most offensive mascot in college sports behind three colleges with Native American-inspired mascots.

The university clapped back in a scathing statement:

“It is worth noting … that there is no comparison between Notre Dame’s nickname and mascot and the Indian and warrior names (and) mascots used by other institutions such as the NFL team formerly known as the Redskins,” they said to the Indy Star.

“None of these institutions were founded or named by Native Americans who sought to highlight their heritage by using names and symbols associated with their people,” the university concluded.

RIP

“Dynasty” star Michael Nader died at 76 of an untreatable form of cancer in his Northern California home on August 23.

“With a heavy heart, I’m sharing the news of the passing of my beloved, Michael,” his wife Jodi announced. “We had 18 wonderful years together with the many dogs we fostered and adopted.”

Nader played one of Joan Collins’ character’s many husbands on “Dynasty” until 1989, then joined the cast of “All My Children” as Susan Lucci’s love interest from 1991-1999.

Comedy Cancelled

David Spade said being a comic in the era of cancel culture is “very dicey,” noting that it’s a “tough world out there” for stand-up acts.

“It’s very tricky,” he said in an interview. “You used to have to say anything to go as far as you could, to push the envelope, to get attention, and people would be like, ‘I like this guy. He’s pushing it.’ And in comedy clubs, audiences really appreciate that … Now you say the one wrong move and you’re canceled.”

“It’s a very tough world out there,” Spade continued. “I think all the comedians have gotten together, in a way, to say we just have to keep doing what we were doing, and the people that come to the shows will appreciate it. But you get an outsider that comes in and goes, ‘I was so offended.’”

He said he’s been in the business for twenty years and hopes that “comics are allowed to be comics,” but his jokes are never intended to be mean to people.

“If the intent is to do it as a joke or a spin on something, and it is mean to people, but you’re just making fun of that, I don’t think that’s horrible,” he concluded.

Indicted

Adult film star Ron Jeremy was indicted on over 30 counts of sexual assault against 21 girls and women over a span of three decades.

Jeremy pleaded not guilty to the allegations on Wednesday, which date from 1996 to 2019 and involve victims ranging from age 15 to 51.

Among the 12 counts of rape he has been charged with, he is accused of raping a 19-year-old woman during a 1996 photoshoot, raping a 26-year-old woman at a nightclub, sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in 2004, and raping a 17-year-old girl in 2008.

He has remained in jail since his 2020 arrest on $6.6 million bond. No trial date has been set yet, but the 1970’s porno superstar will have a pretrial hearing in October.

Negative

Country star Reba McEntire clarified that her recent breakthrough COVID diagnosis was actually not the virus.

Earlier this month the 66-year-old singer announced that she and her boyfriend Rex Linn tested positive despite being fully vaccinated, but she retracted the statement earlier this week.

“I had my antibodies from my vaccine,” McEntire explained. “So I had all the symptoms, so I was kinda probably — I did get tested, you know the test that I had and it said that I had it but then the nurse that came and tested me for my antibodies said that I probably had the RSV virus.”

No Proof

Rapper Kanye West won’t require a crowd of 38,000 fans to show proof of vaccination, or a negative COVID test for entry to his new album’s listening party at Chicago’s Soldier Field on August 26.

“Kanye West’s performance is one of many examples that show that Chicago can be open and safe at the same time,” said Chicago Park District spokeswoman Michele Lemons.

“We have worked with Soldier Field on COVID-19 safety protocols, as we have other venues including Wrigley and Guaranteed Rate Fields, and feel this event can be safely held with the proper mitigation efforts in place,” she added.

However, the event will offer over 1,500 doses of the Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines for all interested guests.

Vaccine Risk
Rachel Bush, the wife of Buffalo Bills safety Jordan Poyer got vocal about vaccines after several players were put into isolation protocols following a staff member testing positive for the virus.

“All these headlines should be starting off with ‘vaccinated staff member…’ then take it where you want it. But the reason we are missing 5 guys right now is because of a VACCINATED PERSON. Call it like it is,” Rachel Bush tweeted Tuesday.

“I don’t want to point fingers at the staff member either..he/she had no choice, they had to keep their job. It’s the rules that need to be addressed and changed because the vaccinated are putting others at risk. It’s very clear now,” she continued.

My heritage is Irish, and I’m not at all offended by the Notre Dame mascot. I’m proud of my heritage and pleased that Notre Dame chose to highlight the importance of Irish heritage in the making of the US. Go Irish; go Notre Dame.

Considering the contributions of people such as Audey Murphy, “Wild Bill” Donovan and the entire “Fighting 69th” regiment of New York, the term “Fighting Irish” can only be considered an accolade of honor bestowed on all people of Irish heritage.

We should keep everything that offends the whiny, thin-skinned “woke” crowd, but doesn’t offend anyone else. Maybe they’ll get so mad they have a single, collective stroke.
