Toby Keith won’t apologize for agreeing to perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration.
The country star was criticized after news broke that he would be performing at a concert held outside of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., but he stood his ground and refused to back out.
“I don’t apologize for performing for our country or military,” Keith said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly. “I performed at events for previous presidents [George W.] Bush and [Barack] Obama and over 200 shows in Iraq and Afghanistan for the USO.”
Keith’s statement comes just days after Jennifer Holliday said she was backing out of performing at the inauguration.
