Chelsea Handler said White House press secretary Sean Spicer “can’t possibly be that stupid naturally” after he said that Adolf Hitler “didn’t even sink to using chemical weapons” in the same way Syrian president Bashar Al-Assad has.
During her appearance Tuesday on “Conan,” Handler suggested Spicer easily gets manipulated by President Donald Trump to say stupid things.
“We didn’t use chemical weapons in World War II,” Spicer told the press. “You had someone as despicable as Hitler who didn’t even sink to using chemical weapons, so you have to, if you’re Russia, ask yourself if this is a country you want to align yourself with.”
He has since apologized for the “insensitive” comparison.
“He’s just, like, he’s so stupid. He can’t possibly be that stupid naturally, “Handler explained. “Like, I believe that Donald Trump right before he goes out there says, ‘Say something about Hitler and the Holocaust.’ And then Sean Spicer has to go out there and, like, lie over and over and over again.”
